ISLA X RELATIONAL ROUTES
Isla is part of the project Relational Routes.
This experimental project will present, throughout the entire season, the works of artists whose productions reflect a shared concern about issues closely linked to the situation in which we find ourselves, humanity, non-human agencies and the planet, such as environmental, social and economic imbalance, identity, the food industry, extractivism, hydro-feminisms or the democracy of the Earth.
Blanca de la Torre will lead the artistic proposal in Isla establishing lines of connection with an exhibition at the Lucía Mendoza gallery, whose curatorial direction is in charge of Javier Martín-Jiménez.
The exhibition will build new perspectives and generate debate on our environment, integrating the work of artists from different generations, backgrounds and paths. The exhibited pieces will be replaced throughout the 10 months of the exhibition, thus generating a collective exhibition that will evolve continuously, making the changes and the incorporation of works and artists part of the exhibition process. It will also develop a parallel program of activations, actions and activities that will allow to rethink the exhibition space of the gallery, understanding it as an experimental place for debate and reflection.
