THE DOOR OF THE MOON. AN ECO-AESTHETIC ACTION ALIGNED WITH THE SOLSTICE

ISLA, in its physical space in Robledo de Chavela, develops research and experimentation processes, proposing a cross between contemporary art, ecology and sustainability.

It also has a digital alter ego, which connects with other spaces located in different parts of the planet, creating a network of projects aligned with the objectives and mission of ISLA.

To celebrate this synchrony between the different spaces, we have created a moment of encounter: 13 Moons and a Black Hole. A piece of contemporary experimental electronics, ambient music and minimalism composed by Menhir -Coco Moya and Iván Cebrián- to be activated in the 13 geolocations that make up this symbolic "archipelago". The spaces connected in the ISLA network look from these 13 points to a single moon from different situations.

13 Moons and a Black Hole is a piece designed to be heard at the same time in these 13 locations around the world without the environmental cost of producing, transporting or moving an art exhibition.

In Robledo de Chavela, Menhir, the collective formed by Coco Moya and Iván Cebrián, held a concert in the Church of the Assumption of Our Lady. After the concert we celebrated a picnic in Isla Robledo de Chavela.

In the rest of the spaces, the piece was geolocated and activated through the free app “Echoes”, available in Apple Store and Google Play. This app shows the geolocated piece and you can listen to it when you enter the activation area.
